The west of England, where Paul Fraser Collectibles is based, is very much rugby country.
The round ball, ubiquitous elsewhere in England, takes a back seat to the oversized egg around these parts, with rugby posts rising up wherever you turn.
So we’re all getting excited about the Rugby World Cup here in the office (well I am anyway), which gets underway in New Zealand next month.
And for those looking to get hold of a unique rugby collectible between now and the start of the tournament, might I suggest this commemorative England rugby shirt from the 2007 World Cup signed by 14 members of the England team, which is currently on offer at Paul Fraser Collectibles?
Some of the signators are still in the squad this time around, including Jonny Wilkinson, whose drop goal won England the World Cup in 2003, and burly front row forwards Andrew Sheridan and Matt Stevens.
It’s a unique item that acts as a who’s who of England rugby in the mid to late “noughties”, with flying winger Jason Robinson and tough prop Phil Vickery among the other autographs on offer.
Which leaves us with just one question. Who will be picking up the trophy in Auckland on October 21?
Can England’s young team go one better than four years ago, when they were beaten in the final by South Africa?
Can the hosts win their first World Cup since the inaugural competition in 1987?
All will be revealed over the next two months…
